Career Opportunities at Information Technology University – Assistant Director (P&D), Sub-Engineer/Resident Engineer, and Bus Driver
Punjab Information Technology University (ITU) Lahore is inviting applications for three prime jobs as part of its Public Sector Development Programme obligations. Positions currently available are Assistant Director in Planning & Development (PPS-7/BPS-17), Sub-Engineer/Resident Engineer (PPS-6/BPS-16), and Bus Driver (BPS-08). The postings are to facilitate the expansion of ITU, campus services, as well as student transportation requirements at our Johar Town, Lahore, main campus. Candidates should fulfill the age, education, and experience criteria given below.

Role Profiles
1. Assistant Director – Planning & Development
The Planning & Development Office oversees all new construction, renovation, and campus master-planning projects. The Assistant Director will:
- Lead feasibility studies and cost estimates for building projects.
- Coordinate with architects, contractors, and government agencies.
- Monitor project milestones, budgets, and compliance with safety standards.
- Prepare periodic progress reports for senior management.

2. Sub-Engineer / Resident Engineer
Reporting to the Assistant Director, the Sub-Engineer ensures that on-site work meets technical specifications and timelines. Responsibilities include:
- Supervising civil works—foundations, utilities, roads, and landscaping.
- Inspecting materials and workmanship to maintain quality standards.
- Keeping detailed site diaries, progress logs, and “as-built” drawings.
- Liaising daily with construction crew leaders and safety officers.
Career Path:
A Sub-Engineer may advance to Senior Engineer or Project Manager roles as ITU’s infrastructure programme expands.
3. Bus Driver
Safe and reliable transport connects students and staff to campus. The Bus Driver will:
- Operate university buses on scheduled routes and special event services.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report maintenance needs.
- Maintain accurate logbooks of trips, passenger counts, and fuel usage.
- Follow campus security and traffic regulations for safe pick-ups and drop-offs.
